Stamatis Karlos was born in Tripolis, Greece in 1988. He received his diploma from the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Patras, in 2011. He completed his final year project (MSc Thesis equivalent) working on a "Simulation of Operations on smart digital microphones in Matlab". However, feeling charmed by the concepts of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, he followed a post-graduate program at the Department of Mathematics, University of Patras in 2012, which led him to a master's degree on Computational Mathematics and Informatics. Since March of 2015, he has been working towards a PhD under the supervision of Prof. Sotiris Kotsiantis. The main topic of his research is "Advanced Machine Learning algorithms under Semi-Supervised Learning".
